At JSW Infrastructure, responsible water stewardship is critical to the sustainable operation of our ports, where water supports cargo handling, utilities and greenbelt development. Our approach focuses on reducing freshwater consumption, maximising recycling and increasing the use of treated water across locations. In FY2025, treated water from sewage treatment plants contributed nearly 11% of total water consumption, helping lower dependence on natural freshwater sources. A Zero Liquid Discharge policy implemented across all ports ensures wastewater is fully treated and reused, with no discharge into natural water bodies.
Continuous monitoring and site-level initiatives further strengthen water efficiency while supporting high-throughput operations. Rainwater harvesting, reuse of coal-settling pond water for horticulture and treated water for landscaping enable circular water use. At DPPL, enhanced monitoring reduced freshwater consumption by 34%, while at PNP and Mangalore, treated and harvested water is actively reused to support daily operations.
